Will laser ‘tattoos’ replace fruit labels? BBC interview
I recently appeared on BBC Click to speak about Laser Food’s innovative laser labelling technology for fruit, which they believe could one day completely replace sticky labels.
The technology removes pigment from the fruit’s surface to show information such as the item’s sell-by date and price without affecting the taste or shelf-life of the fruit.
Top UK retailer Marks and Spencer is currently trialling the technology as laser labelling could, it says, help lower its carbon footprint.
